"Melty Monster Galaxy",[2] also known as simply "Melty Monster",[3] is a musical theme composed by Ryo Nagamatsu for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays in the galaxy of the same name. This theme incorporates an arrangement of "Overture" from Super Mario Galaxy at the end.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Melty Monster Galaxy", and it returns for the same purpose in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is also included in the official albums Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the original version of "Melty Monster Galaxy" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. It is simply titled "Melty Monster" in the game's sound test.

In Mario Kart World, an arrangement of "Melty Monster Galaxy" can play in Free Roam and during routes in Grand Prix or VS Race; in Grand Prix, it is one of the themes that can play on the route from Desert Hills to Shy Guy Bazaar in the Flower Cup; in VS Race, it can play on routes from desert tracks such as Desert Hills and Shy Guy Bazaar.
