Ledge Hammers are giant black-and-orange hammers that serve as obstacles in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They appear only in the Clockwork Ruins Galaxy during the mission "The Ledge Hammer Trap"; six of them appear during the mission and block the player's path to the Star. Ledge Hammers can crush Mario or Luigi under their weight, defeating him instantly. Ledge Hammers move incredibly quickly, but they can be slowed via the blue switch nearby.

"Ledge Hammer" is a portmanteau of "ledge" and "sledgehammer".
