"Sky-High Sundae"[1] is a musical theme in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass DLC, where it plays in the race course of the same name.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]

Wave 2 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass marks the first appearance of "Sky-High Sundae". A looping drum set beat is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

An arrangement of "Sky-High Sundae" plays during the staff credits of the Booster Course Pass approximately 3 minutes and 48 seconds in. It is titled "Staff Credits (Booster Course Pass)" in the Nintendo Music app.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

In Mario Kart Tour, an arrangement of "Sky-High Sundae" plays in the race course of the same name. It is similar to the original Mario Kart 8 Deluxe version, except it uses entirely synthesized instrumentation rather than live-performed instruments.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, an arrangement of "Sky-High Sundae" plays when racing in the course of the same name. It is very similar to the original Mario Kart 8 Deluxe version, except it is mixed and mastered differently. The percussion track in particular is punchier and much more prominent. In Knockout Tour, approaching the next checkpoint causes the theme to transition into a coda.

When approaching Sky-High Sundae from a route or during a rally before reaching the course's finish line, a simple prelude arrangement of "Sky-High Sundae" plays. It is titled "Sky-High Sundae (Intro)" in the Nintendo Music app. A remix of "Sky-High Sundae (Intro)" that omits the piano and bass plays during the rolling start of the Ice Rally.

The theme that plays during the intro cutscene for the Star Cup quotes "Sky-High Sundae (Intro)" when the course is being shown. It is titled "Opening (Star Cup)" in the Nintendo Music app.
