The Parafoil (originally known as the Paraglider in the American English version of Mario Kart 7) is an unlockable glider part in Mario Kart 7. It offers an acceleration boost, while hindering weight, but like all the other gliders, it allows karts to go airborne for a brief time period. It also has the same stats as the Swooper.

In Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Parafoil offers identical stats to its counterpart in Mario Kart 7. The colors of the glider are slightly different however: it features a white center with yellow, pink, and blue colors and it lacks the emblem of the driver. Unlike in Mario Kart 7, it is available from the start. A variant of the Parafoil is called the MKTV Parafoil. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, CPU Mario uses this glider whenever he rides the P-Wing, Toad and the babies use it while riding the Pipe Frame, Toadette and Baby Peach use it while riding the Teddy Buggy, and Dry Bones and Koopa Troopa use it with the Steel Driver.

The Parafoil returns in Mario Kart Tour. It uses the design from its appearance in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is classified as a Normal glider. Hitting other racers with Green Shells yields more points when using this glider. The game introduces seven variants of the glider: the BBIA Parafoil, Piranha Plant Parafoil, Bob-omb Parafoil, BaNaNa Parafoil, ? Block, Soaring Jack, and Luma Parafoil.
