Goats,[1] also known as Mountain Goats,[2] appear in the Mario Kart series as stage obstacles.

History[edit]

Mario Kart series[edit]

Mario Kart 7[edit]

In Mario Kart 7, goats appear near the third turn of Daisy Hills, walking slowly around the track. They can be heard bleating when racers drive near them. A vehicle that crashes into a goat will spin out and lose three coins.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

Goats return in Mario Kart Tour, acting the same as in the previous game. In addition to this game's rendition of Daisy Hills, they are additionally present in the course's R, T, and R/T variants, as well as in Amsterdam Drift 3R. The Steer Clear of Obstacles bonus challenge set on 3DS Daisy Hills has the player try to complete one lap of the course while avoiding herds of goats. Some tours have featured card challenges that prompt players to take out five goats in the respective tour, often awarding badges based on the animal when completed.

Minecraft[edit]

In the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack in Minecraft, the Goat's traditional design is changed to resemble the goats from the Mario Kart series. The Goat Horn item texture is also changed to match the yellow color of the Mario Kart goat's horns.
