Ceiling Needles in Mario Kart Tour
Ceiling Needles

Ceiling Needles[1] are obstacles in the Ninja Hideaway course of Mario Kart Tour and the Booster Course Pass DLC in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They are large shuriken lined on the bottom side of broad platforms which rise and lower at set intervals, sticking the shuriken into the floor below at their lowest point. If run into, the Ceiling Needles cause drivers who are not in a powered-up state to spin out. Ceiling Needles cannot be taken out, but racers can land and drive on top of their platforms from the track's upper level.

Three platforms with Ceiling Needles appear consecutively in the manor portion of the course; in Mario Kart Tour, they also appear in the same positions on the course's R variant, but are absent in the T and R/T variants. The third platform with Ceiling Needles, as counted in the course's regular variant, has a ramp on top of it in both Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
