Mario Kart series[edit]

Mario Kart 8[edit]

In Mario Kart 8, an additional metal arrangement of "Cloudtop Cruise" plays during the thundercloud section in the same race course, titled "Cloudtop Cruise (Thunderclouds)" in the Nintendo Music app. This arrangement was also composed by Atsuko Asahi. In the game's official soundtrack, both the original version and the thundercloud arrangement are played in sequence on the same track. An additional, looping drum set beat is layered on top on both versions of the theme when the player driving at full speed in first place.

The theme that plays during the staff credits, likewise titled "Staff Credits" in the game's official soundtrack and the Nintendo Music app, incorporates a brief quote of "Cloudtop Cruise" before transitioning into "Mount Wario" near the end. This arrangement was arranged by Ryo Nagamatsu.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, an arrangement of "Cloudtop Cruise" composed by Atsuko Asahi can play in the Mario Circuit stage. It is identical to the original, except the brass and string leads are replaced by the guitar from the Thundercloud version.

This arrangement returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, now titled "Cloudtop Cruise - Mario Kart 8," where it can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Mario Kart-series stage.
