"Professor E. Gadd's Lab"[2] is a musical theme composed by Kazumi Totaka for Luigi's Mansion, where it plays in the Lab. It is an arrangement of "Title Theme (Humming)" from the same game, except it contains a different melody for the second half of the theme. This theme is often used as a leitmotif for Professor E. Gadd in subsequent games in the Super Mario franchise, often playing during scenes involving him.

Luigi's Mansion marks the first appearance of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab". It is also included in the official albums Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3: B-Side Music and The Year of Luigi Sound Selection.
An additional chiptune of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" plays when Professor E. Gadd calls Luigi through the Game Boy Horror. It is titled "Game Boy Horror Ringtone" in the Nintendo Music app.
Both "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" and "Game Boy Horror Ringtone" return in the Nintendo 3DS remake for the same purposes.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon / Luigi's Mansion 2 HD[edit]
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and the Nintendo Switch port, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, feature two arrangements of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab".
A chiptune arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" plays when Professor E. Gadd calls Luigi through the Dual Scream. This arrangement is in the key of B♭ minor in allegro tempo and it is played on a compressed synthesizer.
An orchestral arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" plays whenever Luigi is inside the Bunker and during calls on the Dual Scream. This arrangement is also in the key of B♭ minor and the melody is played on a violin with oboe harmony.

A slow-paced jazz arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" in the key of B-flat minor plays whenever Luigi is inside Professor E. Gadd's Lab in the Garage.
An arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" plays when Professor E. Gadd calls Luigi through the Virtual Boo. This arrangement is in the key of C minor in allegretto tempo and it is played on a compressed square synthesizer.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[edit]
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, an arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" arranged by Yoko Shimomura plays during cutscenes with Professor E. Gadd in the Starbeans Cafe when the lights are on.
In the Nintendo 3DS remake, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, the orchestral arrangement of "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon plays for the same purpose as in the original Game Boy Advance version of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, as well as in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser when Captain Goomba and the crew meet Professor E. Gadd in Professor E. Gadd's Research.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a faster-paced orchestral medley arrangement of "Title Theme (Humming)" and "Professor E. Gadd's Lab" arranged by Maasa Miyoshi can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. It is titled "Main Theme - Luigi's Mansion" in the game's sound test. This arrangement also quotes the option selection sound effect and "Staff Credits" from Luigi's Mansion.
