"Puzzle Plank Galaxy"[2] is a musical theme composed by Ryo Nagamatsu for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays in the galaxy of the same name. The theme prominently features a violin, which was recorded live, while the drums in the background are taken from Roland SRX-01 Dynamic Drum Kits and the organ from an unknown source, and all other parts are played on the Roland Fantom-X7 synthesizer.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Puzzle Plank Galaxy", and it returns for the same purpose in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. The theme is also included in the official albums Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music.

In the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, an arrangement of "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" can be chosen as the background music for events. It is titled "Puzzle Plank: Super Mario Galaxy 2" in the game's sound test.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games[edit]

In Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the arrangement of "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" from Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games can once again be chosen as the background music for events. It is titled "Puzzle Plank: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Remix)" in the game's sound test.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, an arrangement of "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" can play in Free Roam. It is simply titled "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" in the game's pause menu.
