A big fruit is a large glowing orange-colored variant of fruit in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Yoshi can swallow a big fruit by grabbing it with his tongue and pulling back momentarily to detach it. A Launch Star then appears in its place, and Yoshi turns the big fruit into six Star Bits. Only a single big fruit appears throughout the entire game, in Yoshi Star Galaxy, in the mission "Saddle Up with Yoshi" on the starting planet, and it is necessary for the player to free Yoshi to eat it in order to progress in the mission.
