"Slimy Spring Galaxy"[2] is a musical theme composed by Ryo Nagamatsu for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays in the the galaxy of the same name until the player reaches the ending outside area. This theme is structured around a repeating pattern of three staccato notes paired with occasional piano and synth instrumentation.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Slimy Spring Galaxy", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purpose. It is also included in the official albums Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music.

In Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, a faithful, slightly slower-paced arrangement of "Slimy Spring Galaxy" plays on the map screens of World 2 and ★World 2.
