"Phase BGM,"[1] also known as "BGM A,"[2] is a musical theme composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for Wrecking Crew, where it plays during every phase (excluding the bonus stages).

Wrecking Crew[edit]
Wrecking Crew marks the first appearance of "Phase BGM." It is also included in the official soundtrack album Game Sound Museum: Wrecking Crew.
Wrecking Crew '98[edit]
Wrecking Crew '98 features two arrangements of "Phase BGM."
An arrangement of "Phase BGM" plays when the player wins Tournament mode.
A chiptune arrangement of "Phase BGM" is featured in the game's port of Wrecking Crew, where it plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

WarioWare series[edit]
WarioWare: Twisted![edit]

In WarioWare: Twisted!, an excerpt of "Phase BGM" plays in the Wrecking Crew microgame. Moreover, an arrangement of "Phase BGM" can be unlocked as a souvenir in the Records folder. It is simply titled "Wrecking Crew." This arrangement uses slightly different instrumentation, but it is otherwise near identical to the original.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the original version of "Phase BGM" is included in the "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley," which can play in the Duck Hunt stage.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, an arrangement of "Phase BGM" is incorporated in the "Wrecking Crew Medley," which can play in the Wrecking Crew stage and was arranged by Manabu Namiki. The "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS also returns and plays in the same stage.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, an arrangement of "Phase BGM" is incorporated in the "Wrecking Crew Medley," which can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and "Other"-series stage, and was arranged by Tetsuya Shibata. The "Wrecking Crew Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and the "Wrecking Crew Retro Medley" from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS also return and play in the same stages. The former medley is titled "Wrecking Crew Medley (for 3DS / Wii U)" in the game's sound test.
