"Sights & Sounds - An Action Packed Commute with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" is a promotional ASMR video published as part of the "Sights & Sounds" series on Nintendo of America's official YouTube channel in 2019. The beginning of the video states that the video is best experienced with headphones. The video follows a boy named Joe playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on a train ride. The video was recorded by the YouTuber DevinSuperTramp.

Synopsis[edit]

The video opens with Joe getting on the train and taking a seat. The train then leaves the station. A shot showing the window of the train is then shown. The protagonist removes his Nintendo Switch from his backpack, in addition to a case holding various game cartridges. He removes Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and puts it into the system. He then plugs the system into a pair of earbuds, and then puts them on. He boots up the game and decides to play as Isabelle, and makes his opponent Mario. Their battle takes place on the Spirit Train stage. Joe has set the match to have an eight-minute timer. As the match begins, the camera cuts briefly to a shot showing the window of the train a second time. As Joe continues fighting Mario, a noise causes him to look up. He goes back to playing for a moment, and then pauses the game and pours out a few pretzels to eat.

When Joe resumes the game, Mario seems to have just recovered from being knocked off the stage, as he is in midair. Mario takes damage to Isabelle's Lloid Trap, and the camera pans to show the window again. This time, the viewer is able to see the train tracks, in addition to a large truck passing the train. As the conductor announces that the train is arriving at the station, Joe lands a finishing blow on Mario and wins the match. He turns off his Nintendo Switch and puts it back in his backpack, unbuckles, and leaves the train.
