"Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam - Kids at Play Episode 1" is the first episode of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam - Kids at Play on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel. The events in the video are based on the beginning of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam's story.
Plot synopsis[edit]
The video begins with a narrator saying Tommy is helping his mother entertaining his younger sister Stacy by telling her all about his favorite new game: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Stacey bothers Tommy with a San-ei Co., Ltd. Bowser plush, having the plush bite his arm and making Bowser compliment Mario for his hat and asking him if he wants to go to the movies. Tommy tells Stacey that does not happen in the story. Stacey accepts this, but makes a deal with Tommy so that she could act out Mario next. Tommy then re-enacts the part of the story where Luigi knocks over the Mysterious book from the bookshelf by sneezing, using a Goldie Marketing plush of him and a miniature bookshelf made out of popsicle sticks. Tommy then sets out paper copies of all the plushies he is using. Giving paper copies to Mario, a blue Toad, and Princess Peach. Stacey points out how Luigi does not have a paper copy, which Tommy forgot. The narrator helps Tommy out by stating that Stacey forgot her question and will not bring it up again. Stacey asks what the problem is, saying everyone now has a friend to go to the movies with, as she makes the San-ei Peach plush eat popcorn from a cup. Tommy points out that the problem is that Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Kamek, and Bowser Jr. are approaching with their paper versions. Stacey guesses that they stole Peach, which they not only did, but also the paper version of her. Tommy encourages the plushies that they will stop Bowser, but Stacey is not sure, as "one Bowser is bad enough". Tommy reassures Stacey that everything will be fine. The narrator then uses his words to make Tommy give a lollipop he was saving for himself to Stacey. The narrator states that Tommy does not need candy, as he is about to "taste the delectable sweetness of adventure" by re-enacting the game's events. Tommy tries to tells the narrator that he still wants his lollipop back, but before he could finish is sentence, the narrator uses his words again to make Tommy and Stacy high five. The narrator realizes he might have overstepped his narration powers, to which Tommy and Stacy agree with. The video ends with the narrator advertising Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam as Tommy plays the game on his Nintendo 3DS.
