"Wii U - New Super Mario Bros. U Game Guide w/Jessie" is a YouTube video published on the official Nintendo of America channel in 2012. The video shows Jessie Cantrell playing New Super Mario Bros. U at E3.

Synopsis[edit]

At the start of the video, Jessie introduces herself and states that the viewer has likely already seen the game's trailer, and that is should thus "come as no surprise" that many people are excited to play it, including herself. As she says this, footage of the game is shown. She asks a person offscreen if she may have a Wii U GamePad so that she can play.

She states that she is going to play as Mario. She begins playing the first of the demo's three levels, commenting on how Mario looks good in high-definition. She collects the Super Acorn and explains that shaking the GamePad causes Mario to fly higher. The video then cuts to the second of the three courses in the demo. She states that it is nice to see some of the "old favorites", mentioning the Piranha Plant as an example.

Jessie also mentions the Goombrat, stating that it looks like a Goomba but is more visually akin to an acorn. She obtains a Baby Yoshi from a ? Block, stating that it reminds her of Super Mario World. Once the Baby Yoshi inflates after she shakes the controller, she mentions that one can get a large amount of airtime with the Baby Yoshi.

Jessie then begins the third stage, stating that it looks "dramatic". She states that there are "hidden treats" in this level, stating that she hopes she can find some. As she says this, she flies up to a Star Coin and collects it. She then states that one can continue playing the game on the Wii U GamePad, and that viewers should check e3.nintendo.com for more updates, and that she is going to keep playing the game.
