"Nintendo 3DS - Mario Tennis Open Report: Multiplayer" is the second episode of Mario Tennis Open Report, a series of three videos covering various details in Mario Tennis Open published in Nintendo of America's YouTube channel in 2012. This video covers the game's multiplayer functionality.

Synopsis[edit]

The video introduces two unique characters in the form of anthropomorphic tennis balls, these being Simple Shot and Topspin Shot. The two introduce themselves, and then show gameplay footage of various multiplayer tennis rallies (which Simple Shot narrates). The first clip shown features a Mii scoring against Princess Peach and Bowser. The instant reply for this shot is then shown, followed by the Mii hitting a flat shot Chance Shot and winning the game. The next clip shown is in the DK Jungle court. Mario's team is playing against Donkey Kong's, and the former is winning. The round eventually ends in a deuce. Simple Shot then makes a joke about not wanting to run into Donkey Kong in the locker room, as he is losing by a large margin. Topspin Shot then states that "You'll never want to run into Donkey Kong in the locker room", to which Simple Shot agrees and states that Donkey Kong is "quite a hairy guy". Topspin Shot then says that Simple Shot should see the shower drains after Donkey Kong is finished with a shower, which grosses out Simple Shot. Topspin Shot then says that the viewer can "avoid Donkey Kong in the locker room" by viewing another video on the game.
