Plot synopsis[edit]
The video is a direct reupload of the Super Mario Maker 2 Direct from May 15, 2019. As such, it is an overview of the main features in building and playing courses in Super Mario Maker 2. Overall, the video is divided in various sections.
In Basics, basic aspects of building courses are shown, such as placing Ground and Pipes, place Coins and Power-Ups inside blocks, place and alter enemies and change the course's theme or game style. In Course Parts, new course parts and other features are listed, such as Slopes, ON/OFF Switch, Seesaw, Dry Bones Shell, and Boom Boom, among others. The Story Mode section details the game's singleplayer mode, explaining how the player must rebuild Peach's Castle by gaining Coins via playing pre-made courses. The New Course Themes and New Course Part sections introduce the Desert, Snow,. Forest and Sky themes, as well as the special Night mode unlocked via the Moon. The New Game Style section introduces the game's new style based on Super Mario 3D World, alongside its unique course parts, such as Skipsqueak, Koopa Troopa Car and Track Block. The Course World section introduces the online course-sharing features of Super Mario Maker 2, such as the Maker Profile and Endless Challenge. Finally, the Multiplayer Versus section goes into detail regarding online multiplayer. The video then cuts to an end card, omitting the final two minutes of the original Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct, as the video was released several years after the game's launch.
