"Paper Mario: Color Splash - Paint Palooza" is the ninth episode of The Play Nintendo Show on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel. This episode covers Paper Mario: Color Splash.
Plot synopsis[edit]
Andrew Trego cannonballs out of Izzy's warp pipe and makes a splash before introducing himself and Izzy, who is lacking color. Andrew calls for Jenna and asks if she knows where the Paint Hammer went, to which she responds saying it is on the couch. Andrew tilts his head, sees the hammer, and questions how he did not see it. Andrew then slams Izzy with the hammer, causing his colors to return. Andrew says the Paint Hammer will help them with their top 5, as the subject is the top 5 ways the Paint Hammer can help the viewer to do their chores. Andrew hits the viewer with the hammer, causing all the colors to be inverted.
For number 5, in a grayscale scene, Izzy (wearing a hat and behind a plane) talks to a woman and tells her something will not work between the two of them, as Izzy is a "big city plant", and the woman is revealed to be a number 5. The number 5 pick is using the Paint Hammer to clean a fish tank. Andrew says the viewer may love Mr. Puddlepop, but they would not like to place their hand inside the tank. Andrew says The Paint Hammer can fix it as it can also fix a waterfall in game. This way, the viewer can hang out with Izzy and watch The Play Nintendo Show. Text quickly appears, telling the viewer to subscribe, like, and visit the Play Nintendo website.
For number 4, Izzy picks up Piranha Peas and Koopa Carrots at a grocery store, and states he is excited for "what is in store" for the next pick. Andrew (with a cape on) mimics Reggie Fils-Aimé and asks Izzy (who has leaves and a flower necklace on his face) if his impression was good, with Izzy saying it was "not not bad". Andrew falls and says walking through a messy hall is bad, and cleaning it up is worse, but the Paint Hammer can help as it can reveal invisible paths, and the viewer can use one of those paths to walk over the floor. After Andrew silences an alarm clock, he finds celery and eats it. Andrew asks Izzy to give him peanut butter, to which Izzy says "brb" (be right back) and goes down his warp pipe.
For number 3, Izzy touches the Paint Hammer, making the color appear. When he is not touching it, the color dissapears. While Izzy finds if fun, he thinks it is time for the number 3 pick. After Andrew makes a pun out of Izzy's name, Andrew says the pick chosen gets so much better that the viewer will need an extra hobby, such as juggling Goombas. A clip is shown of Andrew struggling to juggle Goombas, and says it is harder than it looks. The pick is revealed to be cleaning the floor using the Paint Hammer, as it can give color to uncolored floors in the game. An example is then shown of Andrew using the hammer to clean up ice cream on the floor that he tracked through the house. Andrew then spills ice cream outside the clip, causing his mother to yell at him.
For number 2, Izzy drives a car with groceries and says he never knew it could be so fun to drive to the number 2 pick, which is to use the Paint Hammer to water plants, which confuses Izzy. Andrew says watering plants with paint is a horrible idea, but the Paint Hammer can restore things, such as a colorless Toad, so if the viewer forgets to water their plant, they can just tap the plant using the hammer to make it healthy again. Andrew asks Izzy when was the last time he watered him, to which Izzy says Tuesday and Wednesday upon being asked to name another day.
For number 1, Izzy continues to touch the Paint Hammer, changing his colors until he is red again, and just in time for the number 1 pick to be revealed, which is using the Paint Hammer to do homework. After Andrew clarifies this is not a drill, he states since the hammer can fill in empty spots, it can also fill in homework, which he thinks is the same. Andrew calls himself smart because of this, as that is what his mother tells him.
With the ranking concluded, Andrew asks the viewer what their top 5 would be by commenting on the video. Andrew then calls Reggie, who paints himself holding the Paint Hammer, as Paper Mario: Color Splash made him inspired to draw it. After the game is reviewed, Andrew crumples up the script and throws it into Izzy's mouth. Andrew then tells the viewer to visit the Play Nintendo website and do activities, such as the "Mario Pumpkin Carving Stencil". Andrew then says it is time for the dance party, and turns his shirt into green using the Paint Hammer after failed attempts involving his skin changing color.
After the dance party, Andrew reads comments from the previous episode.
