"New Super Mario Bros. 2 Goin' Crazy" (originally titled "Coin Crazy with New Super Mario Bros. 2") is the first episode of The Play Nintendo Show on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel. This episode covers New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Plot synopsis[edit]

Andrew Trego flies out of Izzy's warp pipe and introduces himself, Izzy, and the Casa de Nintendo. Andrew then introduces the "Andrew and Izzy's Top 5" segment, hits a ? Block, and reveals the subject to be Mario Power-Ups.

For number 5, Izzy fishes out the number alongside seaweed. Andrew then poses for multiple pictures, saying every side is his good side and he's a "superstar", causing Izzy to groan in embarrassment. Andrew tosses his sunglasses towards Izzy, who eats it, and states while he is not a superstar, their number 5 pick is a Super Star. The Super Star was chosen because of the sensation of running into a line of enemies. This is showcased through an animation of Andrew running into a line of Goombas using the power-up. Andrew and Izzy sing the tune of "Invincibility BGM" while this is happening.

For number 4, Izzy swings his golf club and exclaims the next one is number 4, referencing the warning said by golfers, before golf balls fall on his head. Andrew says most people will not find this power-up often, before he pulls out a quarter and a quarter bagel from the couch. The power-up is revealed to be the Mini Mushroom, which was chosen because the player can run on water and go through tight spaces. Andrew says he uses the mushroom to gain a confidence boost by having a copy of him sit on his ear and compliment him.

For number 3, Izzy pretends to be a pirate, stating he has drifted out to sea. Andrew says the power-up chosen is the Mega Mushroom, because the player becomes huge and can smash anything in their path as Andrew kicks some Koopa Troopas. Andrew reminds the viewer to not use the Mega Mushroom indoors, as an animation plays of Andrew using the mushroom in his house, breaking through the roof and walls, causing his mother to tell him he is grounded.

For number 2, Izzy tries to solve a math problem which has 2 as the answer after dividing by apple pie, referencing pi. The number chosen is the Gold Flower because the blast radius is huge, it turns enemies and blocks into coins, and the player turns gold. Andrew states he will use the coins for Bowser's birthday party.

For number 1, Izzy states he is a number one for winning the trophy of best plant sidekick. Andrew says the power-up chosen for this spot is the Super Leaf, as the player can wack enemies with their tail and being able to glide and fly. Andrew and Izzy are then seen on an airplane, where Andrew tells the viewer to put their tables in the locked position as they are leaving Earth. Andrew also tells the viewer Izzy gets "bite-y" around the raccoon tails.

The segment is then concluded, and Andrew asks the viewer to let them know what their favorite power-ups are by commenting on the video. Andrew says they are now going to speak with Reggie Fils-Aimé before reviewing New Super Mario Bros. 2. Andrew then crumples up the script and tosses it into Izzy's mouth and tells the viewer to return to the Play Nintendo channel for more "fun, facts, and fantastic Nintendo news" and also to visit the Play Nintendo website for activities and showing off the "Mario and Luigi instant disguise kit - Printable hats & mustaches" craft, where Izzy wears the Luigi mask and Andrew wears the Mario mask. The video ends with the dance party seen at the end of every episode.
