Dr. Pie-rate is an antagonist of the implied film The Captain Chill Awesome Movie: Chill or be Awesomely Chilled. In the Ask Izzy segment accompanying "Pokkén Tournament DX on the Moon?!?", Izzy states the funniest thing he has ever seen is a deleted scene from the film. The scene shows Captain Chill Awesome telling Dr. Pie-rate he will never get away with what he is doing. Dr. Pie-rate (next to a cage with Frizzy in it) disagrees because he knows something Chill Awesome does not: he is his mother. After laughing, Dr. Pie-rate quickly realizes his mistake and asks people in the background what the correct line was, that being "I'm your brother". Andrew laughs and tells Dr. Pie-rate that what he said does not make any sense.
Dr. Pie-rate's name is a pun on the words "pie" and "pirate". The quote Dr. Pie-rate says in the scene is a reference to the famous "I am your father" quote from The Empire Strikes Back.
