"Mario, Luigi, and Friends Visit Whistler Blackcomb" is a video published in Nintendo of America's official YouTube channel in 2016. In the video, actors in full-body costumes portraying Mario, Luigi, Link, and Jibanyan visit the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and partake in various activities.
Synopsis[edit]
The video begins with an arial shot of the mountain, followed by the group approaching the "Premium Demo Rentals" area. While Luigi uses a tablet - presumably either checking in or paying for the gear - and Mario looks at shirt, a staff member attempts to fit Jibanyan for boots. However, Jibanyan's feet are too big, so the staff member shakes his head. This saddens Jibanyan, so Jibanyan waves goodbye as Mario and Luigi get in a gondola lift.
The video then cuts to Mario and Luigi standing outside in the middle of a ski course, followed by footage of Mario waving to the children that pass by him. The video then cuts to Mario, Luigi, and two unknown people sitting at a table and being brought a plate of what appear to be chocolate chip cookies, to which Mario, Luigi, and the two others high-five each other.
The video then cuts to Mario and Luigi in another gondola lift, waving to the people below them. The video then cuts to Mario and Luigi watching two young children play Nintendo 3DS systems. The young girl Mario is watching turns to him, and Mario gives her a high-five. The video then cuts to Mario and Luigi standing in front of a building and waving.
The video then cuts to Mario, Luigi, and others waiting for a ski lift. Following this, footage of the group inside of the ski lift is shown, with everyone waving to the camera. The children in the lift go to look out the window in the next shot. Mario points to the mountains, which both Mario and Luigi are surprised by.
Footage of Mario and Luigi in the Nintendo Gaming Lounge is then shown, with Mario waving and Luigi clapping. Luigi extends a hand for a high-five to a young boy, and Mario and Luigi watch another young boy playing Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The two are then shown in front of the sign advertising the Nintendo parks at the lodge. Mario points at the artwork of himself, and then to himself. The two dance, and then notice Link snowboarding in from out of frame, whom Mario is surprised by.
Link jumps over a Bullet Bill obstacle, and then rail-grinds on an obstacle featuring the logos for both Nintendo and the resort. Link then snowboards down a hill. Footage of Mario and Luigi walking is then shown. The two then take their picture with a group of visitors to the lodge.
