"Nintendo 3DS - Mario Tennis Open Report: Special Games" is the first episode of Mario Tennis Open Report, a series of three videos uploaded to Nintendo of America's YouTube channel in 2012. The video covers the various Special Games in Mario Tennis Open.
Synopsis[edit]
The video is hosted by two anthropomorphic tennis balls, who are named Lob Shot and Slice Shot, respectively. The two introduce themselves, and then begin discussing the Special Games in Mario Tennis Open. The first game that they discuss is Super Mario Tennis. Gameplay footage of Super Mario Tennis is shown while Slice Shot discusses various elements of the game, including hitting enemies and collecting Super Mushrooms to add time to the clock. Lob Shot then briefly discusses Galaxy Rally, mentioning how the player must collect Star Chips and avoid the black hole under the stage. Lob Shot then discusses Ring Shot, singing that the player is to hit the tennis ball through the rings while they are small. Slice Shot then questions why Lob Shot is singing, and then requests that he stop singing. Lob Shot does not answer, instead telling the viewer that they can learn more about the game by clicking on another video.
