"SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD - Shadow Puppet Theatre (Wii U)" is a short promotional video published in the official Nintendo UK YouTube channel. The video features a series of shadow puppets created by Drew Colby that depict a boss fight between Bowser and Mario. The video was inspired by the Shadow-Play Alley level.

Synopsis[edit]

The video begins with Mario and Bowser's heads being formed as music and sound effects from Super Mario 3D World play. The two face each other for a moment, followed by Mario looking upward and noticing a ? Block. Mario obtains a Super Bell from the ? Block, turning him into Cat Mario. Both hands form the full figures of Mario and Bowser, which is followed by Cat Mario dashing toward Bowser, defeating him. The hands forming Cat Mario grow closer to the light allowing the puppets to be formed, causing him to grow larger. The hands then form a Goal Pole that Mario is implied to have slid down, thus completing the level. The hands then form the game's logo.
