“We wanted the music to have a bold, indomitable feel. We hope you enjoy the authentic Japanese instruments we used, including the shinobue and shakuhachi flutes, and the stringed shamisen.”

"Hands-On Hall"[2][3] is a musical theme composed by Toru Minegishi for Super Mario 3D World, where it plays in the levels Hands-On Hall and Back to Hands-On Hall.

History[edit]

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]

Super Mario 3D World marks the first appearance of "Hands-On Hall", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, for the same purposes. It is also included in the official albums Super Mario 3D World Original Soundtrack and The 30th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. Music.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a jazz fusion/Japanese-style rock arrangement of "Hands-On Hall" can play in Free Roam during the day, on the route from Cheep Cheep Falls to Dandelion Depths in the Leaf Cup, and on VS Race routes coming from Cheep Cheep Falls during the day. It is fully titled "Hands-On Hall (Super Mario 3D World)" in the Nintendo Music app. The corresponding image depicts a race on Cheep Cheep Falls, a scenario in which the arrangement cannot play.
