“A variety of folk instruments were used to portray the unique characteristics of each kingdom in #SuperMarioOdyssey. The background music for Shiveria uses a tin whistle to make it feel like a different country.”
Nintendo of America[1]

"Shiveria Town"[2] (alternatively formatted as "Shiveria: Town"[3] or "Shiveria : Town"[4]) is a musical theme composed by Shiho Fujii for Super Mario Odyssey, where it plays in Shiveria Town. It is an upbeat piece that features tin whistle, stringed, and sleigh bell instrumentation.

History[edit]

Super Mario Odyssey[edit]

Super Mario Odyssey marks the first appearance of "Shiveria Town". An arrangement of the theme that incorporates bagpipe and marching band instrumentation, titled "Snowline Circuit" on the Nintendo Music app and "Shiveria: Race-Course Entrance" in the Music List, plays in the Snowline Circuit entrance area. Both tracks are also featured on the Super Mario Odyssey Original Soundtrack.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a celtic rock arrangement of "Shiveria Town" can play in Free Roam during the day and during routes coming from DK Pass, Starview Peak and Sky-High Sundae during the day in VS Race and on the route from Sky-High Sundae to Wario Shipyard in the Star Cup. The arrangement has an increased tempo, removes the sleigh bells, and adds additional flute and stringed solos. It is fully titled "Shiveria Town (Super Mario Odyssey)" on the Nintendo Music.
