Lurkers (generically referred to by Prima as moving bumps)[1] are objects found in the Sand Kingdom, the Snow Kingdom, the Seaside Kingdom, and the Moon Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. They are glowing bumps in the floor that can be defeated with a Ground Pound. Lurkers can be temporarily stunned by throwing Cappy at them. When one is defeated, a Power Moon appears.
A total of four Lurkers appear, with each Lurker providing a Power Moon:
| # | Image | Name | Kingdom | Location | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 23 | The Lurker Under the Stone | Sand Kingdom | At the top of the Inverted Pyramid, the player should notice a Lurker moving around the area. If the player can ground pound it, they will receive a Power Moon. | Available after collecting the "The Hole in the Desert" Multi Moon. | |
| 46 | Squirming Under Ice | Snow Kingdom | In the Snowy Mountain area where Mario previously fought Rango, the player can find this Power Moon at the very top by ground pounding a Lurker in the ground. Mario can throw Cappy at it to stun it. | Available after opening the kingdom's Moon Rock. | |
| 20 | Wriggling on the Sandy Bottom | Seaside Kingdom | Near the Lighthouse, the player can find two Cheep Cheeps swimming. Under them is a hidden door which leads to a bonus area. In this bonus area, Mario must ground pound the Lurker to obtain the Power Moon. | Available from the start. | |
| 15 | Sneaking Around in the Crater | Moon Kingdom | Near the Odyssey, Mario can find a moving glowing bump in a large crater. Mario must ground pound the bump to obtain this Power Moon. | Available after defeating Bowser in this kingdom. |
