List of outfits in Super Mario Odyssey

From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to search

Super Mario Odyssey features several outfits, composed of a hat that is transformed into by Cappy, clothing worn by Mario, or both a hat and clothing. Most hats and clothing can be purchased from Crazy Cap; others can be obtained by scanning amiibo figures, and some are obtained by progressing the game's story. A total of 58 outfits are present in the game; 14 of these are considered "special" outfits, which were added in version 1.2.0 and are not counted towards the game's completion. 55 hats and 55 clothing pieces are available.

Outfits can be chosen using a closet, and hats and clothing from different outfits can be freely combined. Wearing a complete outfit is needed to access certain areas and obtain Power Moons.

Many outfits are based on those worn by Mario in previous games and artwork. Super Mario Odyssey represents the first game to include this type of outfit system, and similar systems with returning outfits would appear in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Kart World.
