"Acorn Heights"[1][2] is a musical theme in Mario Kart World, where it plays when racing on the course of the same name. It uses a mixed meter, alternating between one bar of 6
8
(compound duple meter) and one bar of 3
4
(triple meter) time signatures. It starts with a bagpipe melody, which is followed by an A section where the theme's main motif is introduced on a flute and an acoustic guitar in call and response with an accordion. The A section repeats once, with the addition of a bagpipe. It is then followed by a B section where the melody is played on a flute and a bagpipe, and at the end, a quieter variation of the A section plays.

This theme, "Wario Shipyard", "Great ? Block Ruins", and "Rainbow Road" are the only course themes in the game to not have any codas in their music, as these tracks (except for "Rainbow Road", which does not appear in Knockout Tour at all) only appear at the end of Knockout Tour rallies.

Mario Kart World features the first appearance of "Acorn Heights". A short, prelude pastiche of the theme, with a bagpipe melody plays when approaching the track from a route before reaching the course's finish line. It is titled "Acorn Heights (Intro)" in the Nintendo Music app.

An arrangement of the first bars of "Acorn Heights (Intro)" plays at the beginning of the intro cutscene for the Special Cup, when the course is being shown. It is titled "Opening (Special Cup)" in the Nintendo Music app.

A 4
4
swing arrangement of the A section of "Acorn Heights" is incorporated into "Staff Credits". It plays at around 3 minute and 50 seconds in, first on an electric guitar, and later on a brass section, while the guitar plays an arrangement of "Dandelion Depths".
