"Faraway Oasis"[1][2] is a musical theme in Mario Kart World, where it plays when racing on the course of the same name. This theme starts with a flute melody, which is followed by brass instruments and glockenspiel. The chorus prominently features a french horn melody, that is later accompanied by the flute. It is backed by african percussion, acoustic guitars, chanting and a kalimba.

In Knockout Tour, approaching the next checkpoint causes the music to transition into a coda. This track has five different codas, which makes it one of two tracks in the game with the this distinction, the other being "Peach Stadium". They all have the same melody, but with slight differences and adaptations to match the section of the track that plays before it.

Mario Kart World features the first appearance of "Faraway Oasis". A prelude pastiche of the theme, with tribal percussion, chants and a sparse french horn melody plays when approaching the track from a route before reaching the course's finish line. It is titled "Faraway Oasis (Intro)" in the Nintendo Music app.

An arrangement of "Faraway Oasis (Intro)" plays during the intro cutscene for the Shell Cup, when the track is shown. It is titled "Opening (Shell Cup)" in the Nintendo Music app.

An arrangement of the french horn part of "Faraway Oasis" is incorporated into "Staff Credits". It plays at around 4 minute and 8 seconds in, alongside an arrangement of "Whistlestop Summit" and "Title Theme".
