- “The music underscores Mario's star-catching exploits set against a beautiful galaxy backdrop. Using piano and translucent synth, I tried to create a sense of grandeur somewhat different to that achieved with an orchestra.”
- —Liner notes in the Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack
"Space Junk Road"[1][2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays in certain missions in Space Junk Galaxy. In "Pull Star Path", the theme plays until the Starshroom appears (but the player can make the theme play again by going back to the Pull Star Capsule planets, and plays until the player lands on the assembly block planet); in "Tarantox's Tangled Web", it plays until the player lands on the planet with the Toad stuck in Sling Pod; and in "Yoshi's Unexpected Appearance", it plays until the player lands on the planet shaped like Yoshi's head. It is a calm track that uses piano and synth instrumentation.
