Tennis balls are objects in Super Mario Galaxy and its Nintendo Switch port. They are large, yellow spheres with a white stripe. Three of them appear in the final planet of "Bubble Blastoff", the second mission in the Deep Dark Galaxy. Here, they roll around the transparent planet's interior, bumping away from each other if a collision with another tennis ball occurs. Mario (or Luigi) must Ground Pound these tennis balls from the planet's exterior. Ground Pounding one sends it toward the planet's center, where a small watermelon is. This watermelon increases in size each time a tennis ball is Ground Pounded into it. After the final tennis ball is Ground Pounded into the watermelon, the watermelon will grow to the size of the planet, becoming the planet itself, and the Star will appear to collect.
