The Mandibug clan is a faction of enemies that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They are composed of bug-like enemies with large pincers and eyes made up of concentric circles, and they are shown to have an enmity with the honeybees they often live near. The Mandibug clan is led by Bugaboom, and it is seen invading the Honeyhive Galaxy during the events of the game.
The Mandibug clan is mainly made up of the eponymous Mandibug, a purple beetle-like enemy with large yellow mandibles that dash forward in an attempt to bite Mario. The Mandibug Stack is a mini-boss variant of the clan that carries a smaller Mandibug on its back. Additionally, the Mandibug clan also features Flipbugs, smaller and weaker insects that resemble Mandibugs.
The Mandibug clan returns in Super Mario Galaxy 2, reappearing mainly in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy.
