"Speedy Comet"[2][3] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays during Speedy Comet missions and tense danger areas (specifically Dino Piranha Speed Run, Pull Star Path Speed Run, Sandblast Speed Run, Sunbaked Sand Castle, Bullet Bill on Your Back, and The Sinking Lava Spire). It also plays at the beginning of all Daredevil Comet missions. This theme loosely quotes "Overture" from the same game in its second half.

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy marks the first appearance of "Speedy Comet", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch ports, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purpose. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album.

Mario Tennis Fever[edit]

In Mario Tennis Fever, the original version of "Speedy Comet" can play in a Galaxy Court Match when a Daredevil Comet is in orbit.
