Dino Piranha Speed Run is the fourth mission of Good Egg Galaxy of Super Mario Galaxy. Mario (or Luigi) must complete a slightly-different version of the Dino Piranha mission in under four minutes. If Mario (or Luigi) exceeds the time limit, he loses a life. This mission can be played only once a Speedy Comet is orbiting the galaxy. This is the first Prankster Comet that appears after Mario collects 13 Power Stars.
Layout[edit]
As the original mission, Mario lands on the starting planet and is allocated four minutes. The goal remains the same: Mario arrives to the top of the structure underneath the planet, but instead of having to spin to open a crystal containing a Luma, the Luma is already there and transforms immediately to a Sling Star as Mario talks to the Luma. The Sling Star launches Mario to a Launch Star that launches Mario to the boulder planet, this time featuring Chomps as opposed to boulders. The goal also remains the same here: Mario collects five yellow Star Chips that form a Launch Star, which takes him to the bean planet. The bean planet also contains the same goal as before: defeating the Piranha Plant spawns a Sproutle Vine. Using the Mario Sproutle Vine, Mario lands on the bitten apple planet. Even here, boulders are replaced by Chomps. Defeating the Spiny Piranha Plant spawns a Sproutle Vine. This Sproutle Vine takes Mario to the block-climb planet. Mario can alternatively defeat a lone Piranha Plant atop a Warp Pipe to access the flipswitch planet, which he then navigates by activating all Flipswitch Panels found there until a Launch Star takes him to the block-climb planet. Mario then navigates the block-climb planet, destroys the crystal containing a Launch Star, and travels to the dino geo planet. Dino Piranha is fought using the same strategy as before: spinning four times at its tail defeats it, revealing the Power Star. Grabbing the Power Star stops the timer, ending the mission.
