Boo in a Box is the hidden sixth mission of Deep Dark Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy and its Nintendo Switch port. This mission legitimately can be done during the three standard missions, though selecting it takes the player to the first mission, The Underground Ghost Ship. Using cheats to fly out of bounds in Ghost Ship Daredevil Run or Plunder the Purple Coins reveals this star is also present and can be collected, being the only hidden star in both Super Mario Galaxy games that can be collected during a Prankster Comet mission.
Layout[edit]
The player must make their way to the bottom of the underwater cave with a Green Shell. Launching the Shell at one of the Mikey Mines surrounding the broken ship mast will cause them all to explode, revealing a Launch Star. The Launch Star will send the player inside of a floating box with a single Atomic Boo and a Ground Urchin inside. Flipping the arrow to change gravity until the player is on the wall to the right, the player will find a crystal blocking a hole. Shattering the crystal will let in light, and the player then has to lure the Atomic Boo into the light. Once that is done, it will reveal the Power Star. Alternatively, they can backflip, wall jump, and spin jump to destroy the crystal.
