"Nintendo 3DS - Mario Delivers a Holiday Gift to a Fan" is a promotional video published on Nintendo of America's official YouTube channel in 2011. In the video, an actor dressed in a full-body Mario costume delivers a Nintendo 3DS to the winner of a contest held by Nintendo on Facebook.
Synopsis[edit]
At the beginning of the video, text is shown on the screen explaining the contest, in which people had to state what they would do if they received a Nintendo 3DS. In addition, the text also states that the person who ended up winning the contest said that he would dress as Mario for a full month. The text then says that the winner was unaware that Mario would be the one to deliver the package.
The video then cuts to footage of an actor in a full-body Mario costume holding a map, walking and turning in various directions before scratching his head and shrugging. The video then cuts to Mario in another location continuing to look for the contest winner. He sees the winner, points to him, and waves. Gustavo Valdez, the winner of the contest, then walks onscreen. He is dressed in a Mario costume.
Gustavo greets Mario, and then gives him a hug. The video then cuts to Gustavo holding his gift, stating that he has been a fan of the Super Mario franchise since he was born. Gustavo then tips his hat to Mario, and then restates what he said he would do if he got a Nintendo 3DS. He then states that this is the first of 30 days he will be dressing as Mario for.
Gustavo then performs Mario's iconic jump. The person behind the camera confirms with Gustavo that he plans to continue to dress as Mario for 30 days. The person behind the camera then hands Gustavo a bag containing additional costumes (one of which is of Raccoon Mario), stating that this is to help Gustavo complete his challenge. Gustavo then high-fives Mario twice.
