Carpet is a type of tennis court from the Mario Tennis series. It was originally known on its own as a Composition Court or Carpet Court, and it is based on real carpet courts. In Mario Tennis for the Game Boy Color and Mario Tennis: Power Tour, this court is where the varsity-ranked players play. After Alex, Nina, Clay and Ace play here, they move up to play at the Island Open. Before Mario Tennis Fever this court featured the fastest ball speed among any other court.

History[edit]

The Composition Court makes its debut in Mario Tennis as one of the default courts. It is a blue court with a very fast ball speed and normal ball bounce.

Mario Tennis (Game Boy Color)[edit]

The Composition Court returns, now depicted as a green court, in Mario Tennis, as the court used by the varsity ranked players. It is only played on once in the story mode, but can be chosen from the exhibition mode at any time. It has the fastest ball speed with a normal bounce.

Mario Tennis: Power Tour[edit]

In Mario Tennis: Power Tour, the Composision Court has, once again, the fastest ball speed coupled with normal bounce. Like in Mario Tennis for the Game Boy Color, it is where the varsity-ranked players play. In this game, it is a green, indoor court with a surrounding miniature, white fence that runs along a yellow floor. Also, there are windows facing the court in.

Mario Tennis Open[edit]

Now called a Carpet Court, this type of court returns as the surface of the Peach's Palace court from Mario Tennis Open. Like previous appearances, it features the fastest ball speed and normal ball bounce. Each side of this court has two colors, one pink and one blue, and is decorated with a checkered pattern with mushroom symbols.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash[edit]

The Carpet Court returns in Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, where it is now entirely pink. It features the fastest ball speed (5/5), and weak bounce power (2/5). The court can be unlocked by playing 5 matches or bought for 1000 coins.

Mario Tennis Fever[edit]

In Mario Tennis Fever, Carpet is one of the six available surfaces for the Academy Court in the Mushroom Tennis Academy. It is available from the start. Unlike every other previous appearances, the Carpet court now has average ball speed (3/5), while still keeping its usual weak bounce (2/5).
