Blue rings appear as objects associated with P Switches and provide timer-related effects when passed through. They feature a similar design to the Red Rings that they are based on, with light rotating around the ring, but are colored blue.

History[edit]

New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe[edit]

In New Super Luigi U, rings appear in the courses Dragoneel Depths, Ice-Slide Expressway, and Rainbow Skywalk. Passing through a ring has the same temporary effect as pressing a P Switch. In all three appearances, blue rings are followed by many Blue Coins, and an audience will applaud if all Blue Coins are collected. In Rainbow Skywalk, the property of turning Brick Blocks turn into coins allows the course's third Star Coin to be accessed. Rings return for the same purposes in the Nintendo Switch port, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, rings appear in many of the game's missions. When passed through, they restore a variable amount of time to the mission timer, which is often necessary to reach the mission's goal ring. The next ring in a mission's sequence is indicated from afar with the text "NEXT".

Rings appear in a variety of sizes, though their size is not correlated to the amount of time they grant. Larger designs featuring stars around the ring also appear in certain missions. Rings can be floating or attached to the ground.
