Ivy Piranha Plants are a species of Piranha Plant introduced in Mario Kart World. They strongly resemble vines—notably, their toothless mouths with yellow lips are taken from the design vines have typically used since New Super Mario Bros. Wii, with the addition of pink petals around their heads—and like them, their stems grow very long.
Ivy Piranha Plants can be used as a grindrail, appearing as part of multiple P Switch missions in Free Roam, as well as the route from Koopa Troopa Beach to Peach Stadium and the second section of the Boomerang Rally. Occasionally, the player can control an Ivy Piranha Plant's growth path. Their heads are surrounded by a flower resembling a Hat Trampoline, allowing drivers to bounce off of them, similar to other flowers found in the game.
