Robo DK,[2][1]:3:06 also called guard Kong by an in-game sign,[3]:15:22 is a robotic, supposedly chrome-coated[1]:4:22 version of Donkey Kong that appears in Mario Kart World. He appears in the race course DK Spaceport, tossing barrels down slopes.[3] Robo DK has a blue and white exterior with red accents, and his eyes are a digital display with two yellow dots. Vertical yellow tiles appear below the "nose" to form a "mouth" making him appear to be gritting his teeth though he is also capable of closing his mouth.

Robo DK is first seen after the Glide Ramp that leads to the girder section of the course. When approached, he jumps away to climb to the top of the structure. As drivers ascend the structure as well, Robo DK tosses barrels down the track that must be avoided. Once Robo DK is encountered at the top, much like the previous layers, drivers must avoid the barrels he tosses to drive between his legs, which leads to the finish line behind him.[3] Robo DK tossing barrels at the player is a reference to Donkey Kong in his titular arcade game. Crashing into Robo DK's legs near the finish line will make the kart tumble.

Robo DK also appears on the routes from DK Spaceport to either Koopa Troopa Beach or Peach Stadium, as well as the route to Whistlestop Summit in the Cherry Rally, throwing barrels at the player. He also appears during the final section of Rainbow Road, sitting on top of a boxcar near the front of the train that flies next to the course.
