Vending machines are objects that appear in Mario Kart World. They are orange metal vending machines ran by Yoshi's that continuously dispense items. Their screen depicts various kinds of Dash Food with the text "happy driving". They are depicted with eyes, much like background elements seen in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Vending machines continuously dispense items from their tray, which move in an arc before landing a short distance in front of the vending machine. The dispensed item can be either a Dash Food bag, a Mushroom, a Super Star, or a Banana Peel.
Dash Food bags flash before disappearing and disappear after 10 seconds. Mushrooms and Super Stars exist for 20 seconds before disappearing with a poof animation. Banana Peels exist for a minute before disappearing with a poof animation. Another item is not dispensed from the same vending machine until 5 seconds after the previous one is collected or otherwise destroyed.
Vending machines can be found in the greater areas of courses, in rest areas on various highways, as well as mounted on top of pickup trucks, where they retain their behavior.
