Peach Stadium is a race course in Mario Kart World. Like Crown City, Peach Stadium appears twice in Grand Prix, being both the final course of the Shell Cup and the third course of the Special Cup. The course utilizes different icons and layouts for its two appearances. Peach Stadium also appears in the Ice Rally as the rally's fourth checkpoint, the Acorn Rally as the third checkpoint, and finally as the final destination in the Heart Rally. Unlike Crown City, which combines its layouts into a three-section track when being played without routes during VS Races and Time Trials, Peach Stadium is simply three laps of its Special Cup layout. Five of Peach Stadium's nine routes lead to the Special Cup layout.

The course is located at the center of the game's map. Geographically, the course is located just south of Moo Moo Meadows, across a Star-shaped lake, and leads directly into the bay in the south portion of the game's map. The Special Cup layout takes place in the sky surrounding the castle. When Mirror mode is unlocked, driving through the stained-glass window on the castle during Free Roam flips the entire world to a mirrored version of itself; driving through it again flips the map back.

The Shell Cup layout is the shortest course in the game. It is a train and bus station with a sign labeled "Peach Stadium Terminal". The terminal is located directly underneath the main track, with a single perpendicular bridge being used as the terminal's highest point and the main track's lowest point. The terminal is driven through counterclockwise in the Shell Cup and certain routes, and clockwise from some other VS Race routes. The terminal is also a stage in the Battle mode. An arrangement of "Battle Stadium" from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe plays on this version of the course.

Kamek will transform racers into Coin Coffer, Cow, Pianta, or Spike on this course.

Course layout[edit]

Special Cup and without routes[edit]

The primary version of Peach Stadium, used in the Special Cup, resembles typical Mario Circuit courses from across the series, especially the one from Mario Kart 8, with an elevated tarmac road spiraling around Peach's Castle. It also somewhat resembles Mario Kart 7's Mario Circuit; both courses prominently feature the interior of Peach's Castle as well as a multitude of pink peach trees. Like Peach's Castle, much of the course's architecture is white and pink, and a giant stained glass portrait similar to the one seen on the front of the castle in Super Mario 64 decorates the center of the stadium, only with Peach depicted in her typical motorcycle outfit. Without routes or from routes coming from the north, a holographic version of this portrait blocks the south. In Free Roam and routes leading to the south, this holographic portrait is removed entirely, while routes coming from the south replace it with an aerial bridge to jump onto the track.

Shell Cup and Battle[edit]

A second variation of Peach Stadium appears earlier in the Shell Cup, located directly underneath the Special Cup version and taking place in a train and bus station called "Peach Station Terminal". This variant is rectangular and extremely short, with cars and trucks serving as obstacles similar to other traffic-based courses. Racers then drive onto the bridge, with the perpendicular portion used for the Special Cup being fenced off. Unlike other courses, it does not loop around, and it is not playable without routes.

This terminal is also used for Battle mode. Several pathways are opened up, and all of the vehicles serving as obstacles except for one train are removed during this mode. The perpendicular bridge now has the fences moved slightly away, making it possible to clearly view the Special Cup's layout. The minimap for the Battle mode variant of Peach Stadium is the only one in the game that is not viewed from vertically above.

Routes[edit]

There are three different layouts for Peach Stadium depending on the route taken to reach the course.

  • Traveling from DK Spaceport, Koopa Troopa Beach, Moo Moo Meadows, Toad's Factory or Mario Circuit uses the layout found in the Special Cup, with a holographic portrait at the south of the track.
    • Traveling from DK Spaceport or Koopa Troopa Beach specifically enters the course from the opposite side of the starting line, skipping straight to the first turn of the course, with an aerial bridge at the south of the track.
  • Traveling from Crown City or Choco Mountain uses the layout from the Shell Cup.
  • Traveling from Faraway Oasis or Cheep Cheep Falls uses a layout similar to the Shell Cup layout, except racers approach the same finish line from the east instead of west, and drive clockwise rather than counter-clockwise.

Peach Stadium is the only course that can be used as a route to Rainbow Road. However, the reverse is not true; Rainbow Road cannot be used as a route to Peach Stadium. Conversely, while DK Spaceport and Mario Circuit have routes leading to Peach Stadium, the reverse is not true for them either; Peach Stadium does not have routes leading to either course. The former of the two also shares this trait with its routes to both Desert Hills and Mario Bros. Circuit. Both of these routes are uniquely five sections rather than the usual three or four sections. The five-section routes pass through a third course also available as a route to Peach Stadium; the route from DK Spaceport passes through Koopa Troopa Beach, and the route coming from Mario Circuit passes through Moo Moo Meadows. The route from DK Spaceport features two boats and two helicopters for drivers to hijack.

Trivia[edit]

  • This is the only track in Mario Kart World to have the player face in the opposite direction upon being teleported in Free Roam mode.
