Helicopters are a type of flying vehicle found in Mario Kart World. They consist of yellow Mario Kart TV-branded helicopters with white accents, a cockpit window shaped like a Lakitu's glasses, and a camera mounted below them. In Free Roam, they can be seen flying around the playable area, dropping Item Boxes on parachutes along the way. They can also occasionally land in specific spots, such as the helipad at Crown City.
During Knockout Tours, a helicopter follows the driver in first place through the rally, starting from the first checkpoint.
