Ride boats[1] are controllable motorboats found in Mario Kart World. They are large blue Dorrie-themed boats with large exhaust pipes and an air intake vent resembling Dorrie's yellow goggles. On their sides, neon red signs read "Mario Kart", and behind them, their entrance is open, showing a dark interior with glowing streaks of light and a ? Block symbol at the center.

By driving into the ride boat, players are able to take temporary control of the vehicle, which grants them a larger size, increased speed, and invulnerability to obstacles smaller than the boat. When colliding with objects of equal or larger size to itself, such as whales, cliff sides or other boats, the ride boat harmlessly slides off. Players may drive the ride boat for a total of 20 seconds, after which they get launched forward as it disappears. The boat's horn will sound three times consecutively when it is about to disappear, with the last horn releasing them. A ride boat can also be destroyed if it is beached. in Free Roam, Ride boats are commonly found on the southern and eastern bay areas: Around Peach Stadium, Koopa Troopa Beach, Salty Salty Speedway and Peach Beach.

While piloting a ride boat, Photo Mode cannot be accessed. The player also cannot rewind to a time prior to exiting the vehicle.
