- “Outsiders aren't welcome here! These lagoons are just for us scrappy salvagers and no one else.”
- —Stone tablet in Lagoon Layer, Donkey Kong Bananza
Salvager Monkeys (also parsed in lowercase) are a group of blue primates resembling spider monkeys who appear in Donkey Kong Bananza. They live in the Lagoon Layer of the Underground World, and primarily spend their time fishing for Banandium Gems and scrap metal using fishing rods with magnets attached to the line. Some wear blue fishing vests, while others wear green overalls along with fishing gloves and straw hats. They are watched over by the Kong Elder.
The Salvager Monkeys are distrustful of outsiders, and treat Donkey Kong and Odd Rock coldly upon their arrival in the Lagoon Layer. However, they become accepting of the duo once they assist in unblocking a reservoir that had been sealed with a Void Stake, and request their aid in unblocking the layer's water supply after it is plugged up by Void Company.
