The Mad Mixer is a boss in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is a device which resembles a large, purple, orange, and yellow chunk of terrain with triangular and circular patterns on it. Created by Void Company, it is attached to the giant mixer in the Canyon Layer's Banandium Refinery, causing it to go haywire.[1] It is one of three bosses in the layer, being fought after Grumpy Kong and before Stompenclomper. It is capable of creating walls of terrain to defend itself from attacks.
After destroying the Terravoider in the Banandium Refinery Terrace, Donkey Kong and Pauline free a Mine Cart from the Void Metal and ride it over to Mad Mixer; to defeat Mad Mixer, the duo must ride the Mine Cart on the circular track surrounding it to gather Boom Rocks arranged along the track and throw them at the contraption while dodging its lasers. While the walls of terrain protect it from damage and it can regenerate them, it takes a while for it to do so, leaving gaps in its defenses for Boom Rocks to be more easily able to hit it. However, after much of its health is depleted, it fully regenerates the terrain walls and creates new ones. The top side of the mixer is unprotected. After the boss is defeated, the Neckreach smokestack above it sinks down, allowing the duo to climb it up to Mechaneck Isle. The boss also leaves behind the three-bunch Banandium Gem, numbered 73, named "Beat the Mad Mixer!".
Another Mad Mixer is encountered at the Feast Layer's Ferocious Fryhouse under the name Mad Mixer Remix. This time, it creates walls of muck with Muckoids to defend itself. Along the Mine Cart track, aside from Boom Rocks, there are Salt Rocks which bear similar explosive properties, but are also capable of defeating the Muckoids and destroying the muck. Mad Mixer Remix has more intense versions of Mad Mixer's attacks. Upon its defeat, it leaves behind one of the five Burger Switches and Banandium Gem 35, named "Fryin' at Ferocious Fryhouse!".

Notes[edit]
- Instead of defeating Mad Mixer, terrain bridges can be created by Pauline's Shout ability, and then a tricky jump can allow the duo to reach Mechaneck Isle and skip the fight, though its Banandium Gem will remain unobtainable unless the boss is fought.
