Odd Rock, Donkey Kong Bananza

The Odd Rock is the form Pauline takes at the beginning of Donkey Kong Bananza. It is a purple, rock-like entity with two stubby legs, blue diamond-like eyes, and various Void Company symbols and inscriptions on its body. Prior to its introduction, it appears to be an innocuous purple rock that happens to have fallen onto the crater. When Donkey Kong pulls the rock out of the crater, it stays still for a few seconds before its eyes glow, and becomes frightened at the sight of DK. Identifying him as a threat, it runs away, causing Donkey Kong to give chase to it. When DK eventually finds it, he tries to think of how to get its attention. He then proceeds to whistle, calming the Odd Rock down, who then realizes that DK was the one who saved it and decides to join him.

Pauline is eventually freed from her Odd Rock form with the help of the Kong Elder when he teaches the pair the Kong Bananza. Later in the game, Pauline ends up transformed again after being swallowed by the Great Harmoneel, but is reverted back to normal after being saved by DK. Although Pauline herself does not become the Odd Rock again afterwards, Donkey Kong is transformed into a similar form by Void Kong in the Forbidden Layer to force her to sing and awaken the Banandium Root (later revealed to be King K. Rool), although unlike her, he remains completely inanimate.

The box art for Donkey Kong Bananza initially featured the Odd Rock before Nintendo revealed it to be Pauline.
