Antickoids are insectoid enemies in Donkey Kong Bananza. They are purple, four-legged creatures with golden antennae that resemble ants. They have large, crystal-like abdomens that can contain a variety of materials, including bedrock, gold, and Banandium. Antickoids are the first type of enemy Donkey Kong encounters in the game, appearing in the opening scene on Ingot Isle, where they can be found attacking a group of Prospector Monkeys. Antickoids pursue Donkey Kong on sight and attack by slamming their abdomen down in front of them. Donkey Kong can defeat them in a single punch, after which they will leave behind any material that was in their abdomen.

Naming[edit]
The English name likely comes from "antic", which can refer to a clownish, attention-drawing act, or can describe something grotesque and bizarre, while also referencing their resemblance to ants and ticks. The name includes the "-oid" suffix that is shared by most enemies found in the Underground World, in reference to the Void Company which created them.
