Smashin' Stats is a statistic that tracks the total amount of terrain the player destroyed in Donkey Kong Bananza. It can be found on the "Collection" menu, alongside Banandium Gems and Fossils. Most destructible terrain types will appear in the Smashin' Stats menu, as long as the player has destroyed some in the layer they are in.
The player can access that menu right after reaching Ingot Isle Cave-In, but is first taught about it by Smashintone in the Hilltop Layer, who will reward the player with a Banandium Gem if they destroy a specific amount of a terrain type. The player is also independently rewarded with gold when a terrain type reaches a certain milestone; destroying 10,000m³ of a terrain type will award the player with 100 gold, 50,000m³ will award 200 gold, and reaching the maximum of 100,000m³ for a terrain type will award 300 gold. Every layer in the game contains Smashin' Stats, except for DK Island. The maximum amount of Smashin' Stats a player can obtain after destroying 100,000m³ of every possible terrain types is 23,300,000m³.
The player can use the help of Shifty Platforms when available to duplicate rarer to find terrain types, Co-op Play can be used to have Pauline copy certain types of terrain, and amiibos can be used to receive chunks of terrains. Certain terrain types listed in the Smashin' Stats below can only be obtained by using either Co-op Play or amiibos. Destroying terrain while in a sub-area, such as a Challenge Course, Battle Challenge, or a Bananza Rehearsal will not count towards the Smashin' Stats.
List of terrains featured in Smashin' Stats[edit]
- Unlike other sub-areas in the game, it is possible to obtain Smashin' Stats on sublayer 1, although the menu cannot be accessed until reaching sublayer 10.
- A single Giant Apple can be found on this layer. It is found near the Baboomtown Square checkpoint on the first visit, and near the Growtone in the post-game.
- Certain terrain types will only appear in the post-game, including Fractonium, Shifty Stone, Crumbly Crust, and Concrete.
- Sand can be found on the layer in very few areas, including close to certain patches of Grass, or near decorative Crockoid skeletons.[1]
- Mud also appears on sublayer 1, and Boom Rock chunks can be spawned using amiibos not part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but both do not count towards Smashin' Stats. Pools of water also appears on this layer surrounding Ingot Isle and on sublayer 1, but do not count as Water terrain, and will not add to the Smashin' Stats.
- Although pools of water do appear in a few areas, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats on this layer is to either attack the floating water bubbles, or the flowing water that appears around Lagoon Layer.
- A single Giant Apple can be found on this layer, located at the Reservoir sinkhole on sublayer 100.
- Fractones do not appear during the first visit, thus making Fractonium impossible to obtain until the post-game.
- During the fight against Void Kong on this layer, he can create Thorns terrain, which will not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.
- Although there are pools of water on this layer, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats is to attack the flowing water on the path to the sinkhole.
- Sand can be found at the Peel Peak checkpoint, amongst the Mud behind the tuning fork. Copying the terrain type with Co-op Play is required, otherwise breaking it normally will not count.[1]
- Wood can be found on this layer by using Co-op Play to copy the terrain type of a Crate or Barrel. To obtain Smashin' Stats for Wood, the second player needs to shout a word made of Wood at a lift platform's Gloo Gum underside, and then break it with another. The first player can also instead grab the Wood chunk out of the Gloo Gum and copy it at a Shifty Platform.[1]
- Crystal and Boom Rock chunks can be found using an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but do not count towards Smashin' Stats.
- During the Void Kong fight on this layer, he can create Ice terrain, which will not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.

- A single Giant Apple can be found on this layer, close to the Big-Stretch Base Getaway.
- Mad Mixer is considered to be made of Spiked Concrete terrain on this layer, but destroying it will not count towards Smashin' Stats.
- Although pools of water can be found in a few areas, it isn't possible to obtain Smashin' Stats for the Water terrain type on this layer.
- Crystal chunks can be acquired by scanning an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but will not count towards Smashin' Stats.
- Although the Freezer Layer prominently features pools of freezing water, it isn't possible to obtain Smashin' Stats for the Water terrain type on this layer.
- A patch of Grass terrain can be found at the bottom of the first Crumbly Crust bridge, near the "Crumbly Bridge" checkpoint; another patch of Grass terrain can be found directly beside the checkpoint. Copying the terrain type with Co-op Play is required, otherwise breaking it normally will not count.[2]
- Crystal can only be obtained by using an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise.
- A few Giant Apples can be found on Sublayer 602.
- Although the Forest Layer prominently features pools of poisonous water, it isn't possible to obtain Smashin' Stats for the Water terrain type on this layer.
- Boom Rock chunks can be acquired by using Elephant Bananza's inhale ability on the VoidCo Bongo Blaster's explosive bullets, which will produce a Trunk Chunk of that terrain type. Chunks of that terrain type can also be obtained with the use of amiibo not part of the Donkey Kong franchise.
- A single Concrete wall can be found on this layer, in front of the "Freezer Path's Hidden Snack" Banandium Gem.
- During the fight against Void Kong on this layer, he can create Thorns and Mud terrain in bigger quantities than the ones found normally on the layer, making it easier to obtain Smashin' Stats for these two terrain types through this fight.
- Lava (which can be turned into Obsidian) can be found on this layer as part of the Pay-Dirt Piledriver and as part of the Void Kong fight on this layer, and Crystal chunks can also be obtained through the use of amiibos that aren't part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but all these terrain types will not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.
- Once the giant watermelon has been destroyed, most of the Green Melon Rind will be submerged underwater. It is still possible to grab chunks of it and duplicate it at a nearby Shifty Platform, however.
- Although an ocean of water appears prominently on this layer, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats here is to attack the floating water bubbles made of juice.
- Although the layer features a few pools of water, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats is to attack flowing water, such as the one filling the hot springs around the Trunk-Dunk Hot Springs checkpoint.
- A single Giant Apple can be found on this layer, at the Stormy Station on Sublayer 902.
- Wood can be obtained by copying the terrain type of a Crate or a Barrel using Co-op Play, and then shooting words at the Gloo Gum underside of a lift platform to make it count towards Smashin' Stats. Similarly, Sand can be obtained by copying it from under the braziers with Lava rocks on them, such as the ones next to the Elephant Elder.[1]
- Sinister Blusterwing, during the first fight against it, can spawn Snow terrain, which does not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.
- Lava can be found in this layer during the "Shifty Smash: Dig Deep" mission, and near the Fragmentone. By using Elephant Bananza to inhale the Lava, or by walking on it while wearing the Soggy Cravat, it is possible to obtain Obsidian at those same locations.
- Three terrain types can be acquired by using Co-op Play and copying it: Boom Rock can be obtained by copying the Bakudan mines close to the "Elephant Bananza: City Smash" Challenge Course, Sand can be obtained by copying the terrain at the start of Sublayer 1001 as camouflage for a few Peekaboopoids, and Wood can be obtained by copying the material of Crates, Barrels, or certain background decorations, but will require shouting a word made out of Wood at the Gloo Gum underside of the lift platform near Trashtopia for it to count towards Smashin' Stats.[1]
- Concrete chunks can be obtained through the use of amiibos that aren't part of the Donkey Kong franchise, and Grass can be destroyed through Peekaboopoid or by copying it from a decoration with Co-op Play, but both will not count towards Smashin' Stats.
- Although pools of water do appear in a few areas, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats on this layer is to attack flowing water, such as the one near the Rumble Reception checkpoint.
- Although pools of water do appear, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats on this layer is to attack the flowing water near the "Hanging Out beneath the Oasis" Banandium Gem.
- Thorns can be found in a few places around the layer, such as the area to the left of the Snake Elder containing an Ancient Record piece, or in a hallway with a Trapantuloid guarding a balloon required for the "Balloons under the Dunes" Banandium Gem. Grass can only be obtained by inhaling the Thorns terrain found in the latter area with the Elephant Bananza transformation and breaking the Grass Trunk Chunks it gives out.
- Attacking Gloominoids and certain Crockoids covered with that terrain type is the only way to obtain Shade Ore Smashin' Stats. Similarly, attacking Illuminoids is the only way to obtain Bright Ore Smashin' Stats.
- A single Fractone made out of Boom Rock appears near the Oasis Observation Deck checkpoint.
- A single Giant Apple can be found on this layer, on the Melody Source Track.
- By using Co-op Play, it is possible to copy the terrain type of a Bakudan mine to obtain Boom Rock Smashin' Stats.[1]
- Crystal chunks can be found using an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but does not count towards Smashin' Stats.
- Three Giant Apples can be found on this layer, two being in the Ferocious Fryhouse area, and one being in the Royal Oil Cruise area.
- Crystal can only be found surrounding the Banandium Melon at the Grater-Go-Round area, and surrounding the Giant Apple in the Royal Oil Cruise area. Crystal chunks can also be obtained by scanning an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise.
- Although pools of water can be found in a few areas, the only way to obtain Water Smashin' Stats on this layer is to attack flowing water, such as the ones found around sublayer 1401.
- Boom Rock can be obtained by either using Co-op Play to copy the Boom Bombs on the Mine-Cart Rails surrounding the Ferocious Fryhouse area where Mad Mixer Remix is fought, or by scanning an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise, but both methods will not count towards Smashin' Stats. Also, the Mad Mixer Remix boss is made of Spiked Concrete, which will not count when destroyed either.
- Although Melted Iron can be destroyed by the orange Muckoids and Muckety-Muck, the player cannot destroy it themselves, making it impossible to obtain Smashin' Stats of this terrain type.
- Boom Rock chunks can be acquired by using Elephant Bananza's inhale ability on the VoidCo Bongo Blaster's explosive bullets, which will produce a Trunk Chunk of that terrain type. Chunks of that terrain type can also be obtained by scanning an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise.
- Through the use of Co-op Play, it is possible to copy Grass on the edge of certain patches of decorative Sand.[1] Punching the placed Grass will reveal Dirt underneath it, which does not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.
- Lava (which can be turned into Obsidian) can be found on the path to the "Passage to the Lonely Island" and "Passage through Lava" Banandium Gems.
- During the fight against Void Kong on this layer, he can spawn Thorns, Mud, and Ice terrain, which do not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.

It is also possible to obtain Boom Rock chunks by scanning an amiibo that is not part of the Donkey Kong franchise. Similarly, Wood chunks can be obtained by copying the terrain type of a crate or a box, shouting a word made of Wood at a Necky's wings, and then quickly grabbing the chunk out of the enemy's wings before it falls to the ground. The Wood chunk can then be destroyed, or copied at the Shifty Platform near the "Floating over Fractone Fort" Banandium Gem, requiring Elephant Bananza's inhale ability to move the chunk to sublayer 1601.[1]
- During the fight against King K. Rool on this layer, he can spawn Banandium Mush, which does not count towards Smashin' Stats when destroyed.
