- “The story takes place in the Underground World, where the scenery changes the deeper you go. Some layers are so spectacular that it's hard to believe you're underground.”
- —Donkey Kong Bananza Direct[1]
The Underground World is the primary setting for Donkey Kong Bananza. As its name implies, it is a vast world consisting of many different layers located deep underground. Donkey Kong is sent into the Underground World while exploring for Banandium in Ingot Isle. There, he encounters Pauline[1], then transformed into the Odd Rock.
The Underground World is home to Banandium Gems and fossils.
